SportsBettingChamp Wins With San Antonio Beating Toronto
The game of interest tonight for SportsBettingChamp was San Antonio Spurs verses Toronto Raptors, and right from the 1st quarter, the game looked optimistic for going the way of San Antonio which would make the win the 60th in the series for SportsBettingChamp.
The 1st quarter went down 27 points to 21 with the San Antonio Spurs finished confidently with a 6 point lead. The 2nd quarter was even better for the Spurs winning the quarter 28 points to 19 and finishing the 1st half with 55 points to 40 giving the Spurs a strong 15 points lead.
In the 2nd quarter, I had the sense that it would be Do or Die for Toronto and as predicted, they came out strong to actually the 3rd by 20 points to a dismal 13. The strong quarter got the Raptor fans on their feet and reduced the lead enjoyed by San Antonio throughout the game to a reachable 8 points. The 4th quarter started explosively with both teams out to prove their worth. San Antonio took a beating in the 3rd and they really needed to lift their game and take control a lot more in the 4th if they wanted to maintain a decent lead. Toronto on the other had had nothing to lose and looked full of energy coming back from a fantastic turnaround in the 3rd quarter proving the Spurs could be beaten. All they had to do was more of the same.
Within the 1st few minutes in the 4th, the Raptors were leading 6 points to 2 and had closed the gap to only 4 points at 66 points to 70 and I was starting to get a little emotional. I had a pretty big bet on the Spurs and I was confident particularly after the 1st half with a huge 15 points lead to the Spurs. Desperately, the Spurs pushed on to take the lead with 8 minutes to go and the scoreboard totals showing 79-70 to the Spurs. I started to relax a little but this was close and this had suddenly become a competitive death match. With just under 6 minutes on the clock the quarter stood at 14-14 with the Spurs leading overall by 8 points. With just under 4 minutes, the Raptors had taken the 4th quarter lead 22-19 and narrowed the total gap again, and I started to get a bit anxious, again. 2 minutes to go and the Spurs are leading by 5 points overall but trailing in the 4th by 3 points which was still quite a concern.
The play was frantic with the ball bouncing from one side to the other. With 60 seconds to go, the Raptors had narrowed the lead to only 3 points, 88 to 91, and the home crowd was going absolutely crazy. Time-out at 23 seconds and I was starting to pace. This was thrilling. Fun as well, but thrilling and I was obviously hanging out for the lead to be maintained by the Spurs for just another 23 seconds. Holy Cow, talk about suspense. Then, the Spurs shot 2 points and that was it, finishing the scores 93 points to 88 with a nice 5 point lead and after a predictable 1st half to the Spurs, the 2nd half went Toronto’s way 20-13 in the 3rd and 28-25 with Toronto winning both quarters but sadly for them, it was not enough to steal back San Antonio’s lead even though they gained a strong 10 points over the half.
Fortunately for me, my bet tip from SportsBettingChamp came good and it was another positive gain in my sportsbook account. Well done San Antonio! Well Done SportsBettingChamp! That makes the season’s tally to a whopping 60 wins with only 1 loss for SportsBettingChamp this NBA season so far.
